This One Truth Still Remains...

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a] by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’[b]
Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:
“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’[c]
Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’[d]
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’[e]
- Matthew 4:1-10, NIV

Hallelujah, hallelujah, for the King of kings dwells among us! For He alone reigns, and His love is everlasting; He alone will wash away our sorrows and pain. And even though we have relentlessly cried, "L-rd save us! Spare us O' Mighty King!" His Majesty and Mercy continues to astound... In Righteousness, He has been more than willing... to stretch out His hand of compassion, His mighty arm of Justice. And with His outstretched hand and reaching arm, He touches the shoulder of the burdens of the world... He alone has wiped away our sorrows, He alone has wiped away our tears. For in Him our iniquities were slain, and our troubles hung - nailed and bled into the Heart of the One True G-d. Hallelujah, L-rd G-d Almighty; for the sorrows and pain You took upon Your brow, You have turned mourning into dancing, weeping into songs of praise, tears into a river of life!

And even though some brethren did doubt You... This one thing remains, even through the trials of the world... "Love the L-rd thy G-d, and serve Him only." For it is written... I shall have no god beside You.

The Thing About Adventures...

The thing about adventures is that they never really end...

Right now, I am on my own adventure; I have school, yes, but that is just a mere pass-time for now.  I am doing well, and study diligently for my courses - I am respected by student and faculty alike, as well as serving on two boards as a student body representative.  I also workout, and lead others in their personal journeys, but again, these things are fleeting.  I would never put my hopes in things that can perish.

I like to read action/adventure/fantasy novels.  They're my favorite.  The one thing that they all have in common, is that in each progressing book (as far as series are concerned) they exhibit harder trials, deeper wounds, and more treacherous peril.  Yet  at the end of each book, a more elaborate celebration occurs. At the end of the story, the triumph is unmatched by the first sigh of relief in the first book... much like in the Kingdom of Heaven... we go through these trials and suffering, and for each victory, the celebration grows.  For each trial, the pain grows worse, the warfare more intense, and the sides are chosen and may not be easy to accept.  But we who remain in the faith walk in the Light of the L-rd - we know that we belong to the winning side.  We know that we have a King of angel armies, and He is the Master of command.  We know that our G-d is the G-d who provides both eternally, and in our present need.

The warfare will indeed be intense, but know and remember that when we take our last stand, we will not be sent to the Kingdom in misery - the Kingdom will come to us in a full armor of rejoicing.

Blessed are You, L-rd our G-d, King of the universe - the one who has separated the sacred and the profane. Blessed are You, forever and ever... amen.

Silent Medidation...

Blessed are You, L-rd our G-d, King of the universe - the One who has given us the abundance of Life, and who has separated the sacred from the profane... amen.

Claim Him in the Morning

"You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water." Psalm 63:1 (NIV)
“Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God." Ruth 1:15-17 (NIV)

One of the reasons I love to dive into scripture before I begin my day is because His word can and will prepare me for whatever the day may bring.  He is the guard upon my heart, letting no thing pass through its gates that is not Holy and Righteous, and yet He is still purging the unrighteousness, and building up what was defamed to become Holy ground.

It is a powerful thing to proclaim His Name in the morning, to walk with Him in the day, and to lay down with Him at night.  We are His Bride, ordained for His Kingdom to be co-heirs to His eternal throne... I have learned that as we defame His Name, we are not taking anything away from His Kingdom except ourselves.  He is too grand to be hurt, therefore stop... stop hurting yourselves by trying to hurt Him.

Blessed are You, L-rd our G-d, King of the universe who has ordained us to be Your children, and Who has claimed us as Your own... Amen.

It's Only A Shadow...

"Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal." Isaiah 26:4 (NIV)

Today when I woke up, I had an all too familiar feeling of "not wanting to get out of bed." Whether due to exhaustion, depression, or anything else, the desire to not participate in life is never from G-d. And so I realized... we are Warriors of the Highest Command; we can not afford, nor should we ever wish to be slack in any part off our lives. It is abnormal. We should not only act upon our faith by walking and talking it, but we should be so willing to follow the lead of the Commander that we do not second guess His lead. We need to pick up our swords, so that when it is time to lay them down, we will not hesitate... The scriptures say to confess your sins to one another, so that in fellowship, we may be aware of the tricks of the enemy. And so, we should take this to heart, not only by confessing mistakes that have been made but by confessing the lies that have been spoken into our lives.

I've been listening to a lot of Misty Edwards lately, because her music is so powerful to me - of course not everyone will get into it, but that's another amazing thing about G-d. He has created us as individuals, with individual tastes, ministries and desires. But to all of my friends, today I encourage you to find your warrior music. I'm studying for midterms this afternoon, then working out with my friends... I cannot afford to be in a miserable place, so I am now choosing to move past the misery and into the Light of His Kingdom. It's a daily decision that we all have to make... don't use "I am blessed" as an excuse to feel miserable... many people decide to recite those three words so that they can have an excuse to call it repentance or otherwise. If you are blessed, then walk in it!
Above is Misty Edwards song, "Only a shadow" - her title track from her latest live album... I recommend you all take a listen! And then put on your armor, for we know not of what the day brings... Onward!!
