Micro Teaching #1 - Don't let the adversary destroy your Shabbat!

 Q) What is it that keeps us away from the House of our Father?
Is it our own issues (anger, depression, pain, etc...)? Fear? Or simply the need to relax?

A) The only thing  that keeps us away from our Father's House (congregations, home fellowships, prayer rooms, etc...) is if there is discord in our own lives - the discord of leadership, deacons, elders, friends, or even new people or one-timer's should NEVER keep us from going to the Throne, nor does it carry the authority to interrupt our fellowship, worship, and devotions.

The adversary has no G-d given authority; we, His creations  are the ones He died to give authority to.  Even the angels do not have our authority!  So why then, would we succumb to the fleshly desire to take rest in worldly environments? When we do this, we are (in essence) allowing the adversary to have his way with the amount of discomfort, anxiety, depression, anger,  sadness, or otherwise non G-dly thoughts and feelings we have... One of the surest signs that the voice you are hearing is G-d, is that He always speaks in positives!  He will never say a negative thing - and He will never tear you down!

When a voice (in your mind, heart, gut, or wherever you feel inclinations of such things) says to you: "Do not go to synagogue (or church), there are too many issues for you to deal with there! You need a break..." or "Don't go to church, there are too many people you don't want to see there right now..." These are never from G-d... G-d draws His children to His sanctuary, and even in times of trial will still draw you there!  Believe Him when He says, "...the Anointed One will be put to death and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolation[ has] been decreed." Daniel 9:26, NIV.

The adversary is the one who comes to steal and destroy... The L-rd will always draw His children in!  Be glad and rejoice, for the L-rd has kept His promise!  So Awake you sleepers, arise and shine, for the Light of G-d is upon us! (Isaiah 60).

So, gut Shabos, Shabbat shalom!
