John 21

I sometimes wonder what the baptist stigma is about - then I remember back to the dysfunction throughout my youth, and how that specific dysfunction has transcended into a bias against the baptist denomination.  As a Messianic believer, one of the core foundations of my personal faith (and of the faith of many I know) is love; both the need to experience it, as well as the desire and need to give it to others.  It is common in the world of different faiths to "make fun of", or pick on other denominations and Messianic religions; that is, however, a direct violation of the word of G-d, who lived His life in the flesh to promote an exact example of how to live in love for the human population.  Even to those who do not believe, we must not strive to give them love, but let it come to us naturally, through the prophetic voice and touch of the Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit).

This evening, I listened to a wonderful sermon by a baptist minister; a man I am loosely connected to, but have turned a deaf ear to since he ministers within the walls of  a church that had played an indirect role in facilitating hurt throughout my childhood. This, of course, is the very thing we as a believing community should try to pray against and seek healing from.  There should never be any kind of alienation of those who either did not intend to, or did not cause a problem to begin with.  We as a community should never let hurt keep us from hearing the word of the L-rd...

Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.” The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep. Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go." John 21:16-18, NIV
Thank You L-rd, our Father and our G-d.  Thank You for Your unceasing and overwhelming abundance of love that You gave to us - not freely, but with the price of Your life.  I bless You, Honor You, praise You, and magnify Your name.  For it is Your love that endures forever!  I ask that You do not leave us alone, that You will be a sign and symbol upon our foreheads, and  a band of ownership around our arms - that no one, not of this earth or any other kingdom will take us away.  I ask for your mercy upon the unsaved - for they know not of what they do.  I ask and bestow blessing upon blessing for those who so freely choose You, or who've chosen You with their life and freedom.  I pray against the adverse, and all those who are not aware of what they do - for when we are hurt, L-rd, it is not because the world hates us, but because they hate You.   L-rd, You are an amazing G-d, and Your love never fails; it never gives up; it never runs out on us.  You are the river of life, that we have been given to play in, to wash in, to exercise and renew our strengths!  In You, G-d, we are mighty warriors! In You, G-d, there is no failure, and in You there is no fear! In Your presence we dwell, and You dwell in the praises of Your children, that You G-d are never alone!  Please break our hearts with what breaks Yours, that we may grow infinitely closer to You!  Bow down you deserted nations, that the L-rd your G-d may sit upon your throne! Bow down lowly servants of the dead, that the L-rd, G-d of Israel will bring you into life! Bow down sons of Jacob, that you may know your G-d! Bow down Babylon, that your king will be humbled!  Bow down to the Grace and Mercy of G-d - rest, be still, and know He is G-d...  L-rd we Magnify Your Name, and with humility, we bow down to Your feet, that You may lift us up with Your infinite and Holy Spirit.  L-rd, we give You our lives, we give You our souls - we live for You alone!  Let every breath that we take, and every waking moment be glorifying to You Name! Let every nation make mention of You, and let all those who have ears let them hear, for the day of the L-rd is upon us! And in that day, there will be singing, dancing, and stomping in the streets, an every breath will praise You L-rd.  Every mountain shall move and make way for the Presence of You, our G-d and King.  Selah...

L-rd we give You all the Glroy, that we may dwell in Your Presence.  Amen, and amen.

Let Hope Arise

 "If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.
 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.  For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.  But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him." 1 Corinthians 15:19-23, NIV

Shabbat Shalom.

To the Lost and Wounded...

*see note below

To all of the families, friends, loved ones, and acquaintances effected by the Boston terror attack:

"Glorified and sanctified be God's great name throughout the world
which He has created according to His will.

May He establish His kingdom in your lifetime and during your days,
and within the life of the entire House of Israel, speedily and soon;
and say, Amen.

May His great name be blessed forever and to all eternity.

Blessed and praised, glorified and exalted, extolled and honored,
adored and lauded be the name of the Holy One, blessed be He,
beyond all the blessings and hymns, praises and consolations that
are ever spoken in the world; and say, Amen.

May there be abundant peace from heaven, and life, for us
and for all Israel; and say, Amen.

He who creates peace in His heavens,
may He create peace for us and for all Israel;
and say, Amen."

From the Mourner's Kaddish, a tradition Jewish prayer in celebration of life; spoken in prayer for the lost.  My heartfelt sympathy and prayer goes out to all who are involved, whether through a first or third party.  May the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob bless you, and keep you; may He shine His face upon you and give you peace.

*I may have posted this video before, and although I try to keep a variety of media in my posts, I felt this song and video was fitting for the subject.

To G-d be the Glory

"Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;

let the sea resound, and all that is in it.  Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them;

let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.  Let all creation rejoice before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth..." Psalm 96:11-13, NIV

To G-d be the Glory!
In all the heavens
And all the earth
Praise His Name!
Give up praises of songs
Praises of dance
Praises of the scribes and scholars
Live and be Joyful
for the L-rd our G-d is coming soon!
Reign in the King
With the sounds of trumpets
With cymbals
With drums
With the clapping of our hands!
Reign Him in
Lest we be overcome by
The grief of the nations
Reign Him in
That we may Shout for Joy!
All those who hear, let them hear
For the day of the L-rd is coming!
The day of our Salvation
Will soon be upon us!
Reign Him in
With the joy of our inheritance
Reign Him in
With the loudness
Of our laughter!
Make Him jealous of our Joy
that He may no longer be willing to hide His face!
Let all of the trees in the fields clap their hands
And may the branches of the dancers bear much fruit!
Let the rocks be silent
For if the L-rd hears even the dead
Then how much more will He acknowledge the living?
Let the Righteous be glad
For our L-rd Reigns!
Indeed, let the L-rd hear our numerous sounds of Joy
Let Him who bears the Glory of the Righteous
Hear the many sounds of His Triumph!
Let all of the angels sing, "Holy unto You!
Holy unto You!
For You alone are worthy to be praised!
You alone are the sanctification of the temple!
You aloe are magnified,
Sanctified, and Lauded
As the Great King of Israel!"
And let all of the trees clap their hands
And all of the singers bear much good fruit
Let the rocks shut up their cries
For the song of the righteous is louder than that of the dead!
Let the L-rd Reign
Let the earth be Glad!
For the darkness is no match for the Light
And the darkness is swallowed by His Glory!
Let the earth be Glad
For the Redeemer has kept His promise
Let the earth rejoice
For the L-rd will reign here
Let the earth tremble
For the Glory of the L-rd
Let us give no excuse
for the dead to cry out to our L-rd
And for the unholy things to plead for His coming
Let us rejoice
For this is what the L-rd said,
"Trust in me, all who are weary;
That I may be your Comfort
And Shelter;
Let the children come;
Let the righteous be glad!"
Praise be to the G-d of all that is living
For not even death
Is above His authority
